Happy Anniversary

It's the 1st year anniversary of "A Slice of Jamiecake" on Tumblr!

This blog had a rocky year, starting with my computer breaking down immediately after launching the site and being computer-less for three months (reason why there were no posts in April and May). Then, losing my family and home made a negative impact on my devotion to this page.

Despite being a part of the ROTG fandom very early on, I stayed hidden in the shadows because I felt like there wasn't a place for me here. I thought that I wouldn't be accepted because of what I was advocating. Starting this blog was my way of saying, "Hey, I deserve to be here too."

Fear was hindering. Seeing such accomplished artists, RPers, writers triggered anxiety. I've been working on these crafts for over a decade, yet I felt overwhelmed by the fact that I could never get to everyone else's level. Once I let go of that fear, I now feel the confidence to live. I'm not worried about approval anymore. I'm proud of the work I produce. I may not be a talented artist and writer as some of the other amazing members of this community, but the importance is that I'm trying.

         I'm here. I'm alive.

                                   I am committed and dedicated to this.

While the following for this blog is small, it has been strong. Whether you just started following or have been since the beginning, you took a chance on me and you stuck with me even through the toughest of times. I have you to thank.
